Annual Symposium Credits

CONFERENCE PURPOSE: To increase the knowledge of health care reform policy implication guidelines, develop skills in patient engagement to providers and to increase communication between physicians and nursing resulting in better patient outcomes.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES:

  • Define how to deliver safe care in a changing health care environment.
  • List at least one way that physicians and nurses can break down communication barriers.
  • Discuss methods that staff can use to break down barriers to communicate in order to change their culture.
  • Identify strategies on how to engage patients along with patients' families in health care accountability.

MPHI - Continuing Education Provider Unit (OH-320, 06/1/16) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

MPHI-Continuing Education Provider Unit is an Unlimited Approved Provider (MICEC-0042) with the Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative and is recognized by the State of Michigan, Department of Community Health, Licensing Division for Social Work Continuing Education.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of William Beaumont Hospital and Michigan Public Health Institute - Continuing Education Provider Unit.

William Beaumont Hospital is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. William Beaumont Hospital designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)T. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Non-physician professionals will receive an attendance certificate from William Beaumont Hospital and should check with their individual credentialing body to confirm that participation in this CME activity will be approved for credit.

The MHA Health Foundation is authorized to award 6 hours of pre-approved Category II (non-ACHE) continuing education credit for this program toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program wishing to have the continuing education hours applied toward Category II credit should list their attendance when applying for advancement or recertification in ACHE
